Lahemaa is 725 sq km of unspoiled, rural Estonia with picturesque coastal and inland scenery. It is one of Europe’s most important forest conservation areas, where many large mammals live.

3-days self-guided bike tour to the Lahemaa National Park follows the Eurovelo 13 route and includes all the major sights in Lahemaa: Altja fisherman’s village, Palmse and Sagadi manor houses, nature sights like Oandu walking trails, Viru Bog and Jägala Waterfall.

You can start this tour from Tallinn from Sunday to Thursday, and not Fridays and Saturdays.

There are two options to take this tour: 

  • Route 1: Start cycling from Tallinn to Lahemaa
  • Route 2: Spend all three days in Lahemaa

ROUTE 1: Start cycling from Tallinn

Day 1: Tallinn-Valkla (55 km)
Cycling first to Estonia’s second biggest waterfall in Jägala. Continue Valkla. Overnight in Valkla

Day 2: Valkla -Sagadi (65 km)
Continue to Viru Bog – one of the most known nature sights in Estonia. Walking in Viru Bog. Continue to Palmse, visiting the manor complex and Lahemaa National Park visitors centre. Continue to Võsu and on seaside road to Altja and Sagadi. Overnight in Sagadi in hotel.

Day 3: Sagadi-Kadrina (32 km)
Cycling to Palmse, then Viitna and continue to Kadrina. Train back to Tallinn.


Day 1: Tallinn-Kadrina-Võsu (1hr 10min by train + 45 km)
Train to Kadrina. Cycling first to Lahemaa National Park Centre in Palmse. Visiting Palmse Manor complex. Cycling to fishermans village Käsmu, where you stay overnight in B&B place.

Day 2: Cycling to Sagadi

Cycling to Altja, lunch in Altja Tavern. Continue to Oandu, option to walk on one of the marked walking trails. Continue to Sagadi, visitng Sagadi Manor complex and Estonian Forestry Museum.  Overnight in hotel in Sagadi or Vihula.

Day 3: Cycling back to Kadrina

Last day cycling back to Palmse-Viitna-Kadrina. Train to Tallinn
