How long has City Bike been in business?
In 2003, Toomas started with 20 bikes City Bike, which was the first company to organize guided city tours in Tallinn. Today City Bikes has over 90 bikes and it organizes tour all around Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and also in Russia. Read more on our About us page.

What do you do in the winter?
Well it's here because it's what everyone asks - people seem to think we hire bikes for 5 months of the year and do nothing for the rest of the year:

NO! We have winter tours by minibus around Tallinn and we do Nordic Walking tours in Tallinn and around all year around. PLUS we have 5 bikes with winter tires, what means that biking is possible even with the snow!
The 'off season' is also filled with website construction, route writing and checking (in all three Baltic States and Russia! It takes time!), equipment service/orders, visiting hotels and guesthouses, checking the catering facilities along the routs, etc., etc.,

There are other destinations. Why Estonia or the Baltics?
Baltic countries are small with unspoilt nature, rich traditions and history as well as modern entertainment facilities. There is something for everyone here: ancient defensive walls, medieval fortresses and cobbled streets coupled with leafy parks, romantic coasts, deep forests, sandy beaches, wooden windmills, modern hotels and tourist farms. Estonia and other Baltic countries are flat (except South-Estonia, where you can find rolling hills) and they are perfect for cycling: short distances, quiet roads and friendly people.

There are other ways to vacation. Why do a bike tour?
Bike touring frees you from the sedentary, mind-numbing form of travel that has become the norm in the automobile age. Pedalling through places of natural beauty allows you to experience them on multiple levels unavailable to the auto traveller. Incorporating outdoor exercise into your day makes everything from fine food to a Jacuzzi bath more enjoyable. Try it once--you won't go back!

What languages to you speak in the Baltic’s?
All free countries have it’s own language. The official language in Estonia is Estonian, in Latvia is Latvian and in Lithuania is Lithuanian. English and Russian, some places also German and Finnish are widely spoken and understood in all three countries.

Do I need a passport or visa for a bicycle tour in the Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania?
These countries are new to the European Union and we recommend double-checking with the embassy of the country to be visited in your home country. You will need a full, valid passport.

What the weather is like?
Part of the fun of bicycle touring, especially in the summer heat, is to feel the gentle rain on your back! While riding in the rain is not ideal, it does add a sense of adventure once and a while. It is impossible to predict what the weather will be on the days your tour is scheduled. You can check forecast in the Internet. It is always a good idea to bring rain –gear with you.
Guided tours: as long as road conditions are safe, we will cycle our planned daily routes. Keep in mind that if cycling in the rain is not “your thing,” you can always take the shuttle to next stop.
